Friday Sketchers bloghop and challenge.

Hi everyone!
Managed to do the bloghop a couple of days ago. Have taken a little longer to finish the card for the challange. The younger kid got sick again. He is better off today so my card got finished as well.

If you want to take part in all the fun, just follow the link here. Friday sketchers Blog hop and Challenge

My card then is made with some card stock and embossing templets. No designer paper at all. I wanted the card to go in black, white and red. Didn't have those colour in DP so this is how it turned out. Lots of roses and rose buds to support the new Tilda from this years winter kit. She is painted with distress inks. Have also used some stickles on the flowers. Nothing more to say about this I think. Oh, a few pins from whiff of joy is used as well. Love these squared ones. :)

(It's not that big difference between the red colours as it looks here).

Have a good evening everyone,
hugs

Super duper challenge at passion for promarkers 3

Hi everyone!
I'm back again. This time with at gift that I made for one of my nephews. I can show it now as the kids have gotten their gifts for this year. Kind of glad that this part of the hollydays are over. When Willy got his gifts yesterday he did not want them. He had set his mind to a really big one, and he was determent that it was a huge trash collecting lorry. Let me tell you it wasn't. It was a coffee making mashine. It was as exciting when he saw that. :) :)

So it is still Christmas and New Years theme at PfP, everything but a card and this is a little box I made with some stamps as well coloured with my promarkers, as is the tag. This was great fun to make even if I had some trouble getting it all together with the tag as well. Sometime it is just  "stop" in what I do, but I got it in the end. So here is what it looks like. The stamps are from Magnolia, Hänglar och Stänglar and a free gift from a magazine earlier this year. DP from the local supermarket. Yes, they are back again. Just in different versions. LoL

Papertake Weekly Challenge Thank you theme

Merry X-mas all! When everyone is celebrating X-mas I'm in the blog land. :) We here in Sweden have our main celebration 24th of December, so today we chill out and get some new energy. I thougt it was a good way to start the day by making a card for a friend who knitted me a pair of socks. Thank you so much dear! I just love them. :)

And I found the challenge PWC when looking around at all wonderful cards out there and this suited my card perfect. :) The sentiment says Thanks in Swedish, and the DP are one or maybe two downloads from PinkPetticoat. I have had them printed for ages but never knew what to do with them. But studying Dawny's cards helps. :) I used some half pearls and a couple retro flower punch from EKS as well as some doodles. It's raining dogs and cats here today and the photo is totally bad. You have to use your imagination to see it properly I think. :)

Take care and hugs for eveyone,
Marie

Just Magnolia challenge week 38

I can't believe that I managed to finish a card for this challenge as well. Three in two days! Feels good after having a little melt down when it came to cardmaking. But I didn't stop my creativity. It just change direction for a while. Spent some time x-stitching and making a few scrap bookpages for my youngest son. And they are actually digital. Now I just need to decide how to go on with his album. I do want something that we can read like a book. Guess I have to find a good printer somewere. Should not be too hard these days.

Well back to the card making world. This week it's a sketch at Just Magnolia. It looks like this and you find more information about the challenge here.

For this card I have used a Tilda from the winter club kit, DP from Panduro (frosted green), a Prima flower, some roses, a few pins, ribbon, leafs. The flowers are distressed with brown ink and some stickles in a brown colour from Rangers. The image is coloured with distress inks.

This is it for now. If I don't manage to blog more before X-mas I wish you all the best and a really merry X-mas to you all. Now I'm off to the fire in the basement. Some cosy time with the cats, they love it when the heat is on. :)

Hugs for you all,
Marie

Friday Sketchers week 83

Another hello today! My second entry for today! How good am I? I couldn't sleep last night and started to make a card that I had started earlier with a little help from my oldest son. I last second I manage to save my image that was almost finished  and gave him a few others to colour instead. He has now started his journey with the distress ink refills. He is three if you wonder, little early isn't it, or maybe not. Kind of nice that he wants to spend some time with me down in my crafting room. :)

The Friday skecher's sketch and more info you'll find here.

Well, my card now then. The sketch is a really nice one and since I'm soooo tired of Christmas cards by now, I made a spring influenced one instead with a stamp from Sugernellie, called ropeswing, if I remember right. Coloured with distress inks, DT bloom and groom, some flowers from "Wild orchid" and some Dewdrops.

This is all from me for today. I wish you all the best for the rest of the day. Now time to wrapp some presents when the boys are at kindergarten. It will take me forever, lots of small things...

Hugs,
Marie

Super duper challenge at passion for promarkers 2

OK, I'm back again with another candle. Have put some more work into this one, and it became a great x-mas gift for my auntie from my boys. It's not much to say about it. A couple of Magnolia stamps coloured with promarkers of course on tissue paper and cardstock for the lable. In the little holder for the candle I used a CD-rom disc to trace around and I actually glued it to the bottom itself as well, and then covered it up to give the whole thing something to rest on. It was kind of wobbly before that. Decorated my littel "holder" a little bit and wrapped the whole thing up. The rest is history as we say. :)

Find out more about the challenge at Passíon for Promarkers here.

I think I'll go for a walk now. Sun is shining, it's about -10 C degrees and lots of snow. It's wonderful. Real winter. I enjoy it for as long as it lasts...

Hugs and take care every one,

Marie

Super duper challenge at passion for promarkers

So here in the snowstorm which still goes on here in Kalmar, I think we'll have a white X-mas this year if the temperatures keeps below zero. Would be nice. :)

Lots of prices to be won at Passion for Promarkers, a challenge that goes on until the beginning of January next year. Everything but a card with xmas or new years theme are allowed. I have a few projects that I've been working on. A couple of cards show of the first one I did today and will finish yet another one tomorrow I hope, some gift boxes are also on the way I think. Have some ideas but have not manage to make them yet. Hope I will before the time runs out. Of some strange reason time is always shorter in December. The day only have 12 hours instead of normal 24 I think. Way too much to be done. :)
This is my first candle ever made, even before the challenge was up at PFP. :) Used a cheep candle from my dear IKEA, stamped on tissuepaper and coloured with Promarkers of course. I do hope that this counts for Christmas theme as the stamp is called "Tilda as Christmas angel" (by Magnolia, Sweden of corse).

I leave you with this for now and be back in a few days with another entry or two.

Hugs and love to you all,
Marie

This is what it looks like outside today...

Everything covered in snow. Very cosy but today I did't like it at all. Mostly because I had to clean it all away from the drive way. My partner in crime is away and work and I had to deal with it all by myself. Heavy work! Real workout.

In the end I have manage to make a card for this weeks challenge at Just Magnolia. The theme is "It's christmas". So here comes my little Tilda card filled with flowers from Prima, golden half pearls and tiny ones in white, painted with distress inks, some stickles from Ranger, DP by DCWV I think and this is the result. I borrowed the sketch from Friday Sketchers since it was a nice one to work with, I kind of hope I will be able to make another one for entering there later tonight, after take it easy infront of the fire for a while first. Love that, it's the best part of the winter season... :)

Have a good evening everyone!

Hugs and take care,
Marie

A little card for you to look at...

I have not been very creative lately. I feel kind of empty of ideas and inspiration so I let it all be for now. I made this card a while back ago when a friend needed a card. I used Whiff of Joy stamp from the fall kit, flowers from Prima and the roses from another place. Some half pearls, brown ink and promarkers to colour with and I ended up with this little creation. I have decorated the card inside as well, but all the photos was kind of crappy so I leave you with this one. DP are Wisteria Lane by the way. Wish you all a lovely day and hope that my creativity wakes up soon.
Take care and hugs,
Marie

Passion for Promarkers week 27

Hello everyone!
It's me again. I never thought that I would be able to go "vintage" as the theme is at Passion for Promarkers this week, but I've done it. (You can also use any colours you want to for your vintage theme). At least I think I have. There is flowers, lace, some gold and an old fashion looking stamp. That's all you need I think. This card I'll give to my auntie as she wanted me to make a card for one of her friends that turns 70 in the middle of December. So I've got it done in good time. :) I had actually coloured this stamp image with distress inks at first, but this one turned out lots better. Never thought I could get this good result with the promarkers on this detailed stamp, but I did. Kind of proud of myself. :)

Well now, taa daa here comes the card! (Sorry for the not so good photos, my camera is on strike).

Close up of the image

This is all from me for today. I have a bunch of letters to write to my poor penpals that really have had to stand back lately when I've been busy with my cardmaking. Time to make up for that now.

Take care and have a good day,

hugs

Friday Sketchers week 79

Thougt I give Friday Sketchers a new chance as the sketch is lovely. Clean and simple and great fun to work with.

Sketch looks like this

And this is my card

The four stamps that are used are from "Hänglar och Stänglar", a minikit so the stamps are small but very cute. I've coloured them with distess inks, DP from DCWV. Flowers from Prima and some stickles on top on them. Have also used a couple of card candy buttons from Card craft. I kind of wish they would come in more sizes, please? :) CS from Papermania and Basill.

Well this is all from me for now. I off to take a nap. I feel like I deserve it today, maybe I can figure out what stamp to use for the new Promarker challenge at the same time.

Have a good day everyone

Hugs

Passion for promarkers, challenge no. 26

I got it done! Never thought I would. It's not a masterpiece, but at least I'm playing along again. For some reason I can't cut a straigth line today. Everything is a bit crocked but that is how life is sometimes. A bit unconcentrated maybe because I've become an auntie for the four time tonight, a little baby boy to get to know and cherish. Will be great to get to know him. :)

Well, my card then. It's colour combo week at Passion for Promarkers, marsh green and burnt umber. Really lovely colours, if you have a matching stamp that is! I finally remember that I had this guy from the winter collection from Whiff of Joy. He was the perfect one for the colours. A very simple card, but I do love the colours in it. DP are from a digi download from Kay Miller design. Lots of lovely down loads, this is called Winter's peace.

Kind of had to break up the masculine colours with a little ríbbon and some gold pearls. After all it is a X- mas card and there has to be at least some bling on it, doesn't it? I even got a little pink in it. :) But it do look a lot more pink here that in reality.

Well, a short one this time. It's getting late and I think that I have to paint a little before I go to bed. Tomorrow a little ride to IKEA. My boys actually likes to go there. Need some storage for my stamps and it doesn't come cheeper than there. :)

A good night to each and everyone,

hugs
Marie

Everybody Art Challenge 66

Looked around a little in the blogworld last week and found this challenge blog, Everybody Art Challenge. I liked the sketch and decided to give it a go. My card has been finished for a few days now but the weather has been really bad and no good photos. Finally managed to get some taken, even if it was in the last minute. :) How me! :)

The sketch looks like this:

And this is my card
A blue and pink creation. I have kind of fallen in love with the colour of broken china from Tim Holtz distress ink refills. Especially with lots of water in it. Nice colour. :) The stamp is from this winters Whiff of Joy collection, DT papers from Magolia's winter collection, flowers from everywhere, a swirl, some half pearls, brown and silver ink. Some pearls on a "thread" in silver and white. Hmm, think that is it.

Close up of the image.

Have a good day everyone!

Friday Sketchers week 78

Hello everyone!
Another day another card. Thought I try a new challenge again. Friday Sketchers this time. A nice and lovely sketch to follow. I did have some trouble to get my image together. Don't know how many times I painted this one by now. I work on my distress ink refill painting skills and sometimes it seems to be impossible to get it to look OK. Had another image that turned out better, but the colours totally clashed the back ground so this had to do. Here comes the sketch.

I've used for this card: Image from Sugarnellie (Santa's little helpers), distress ink, DP from Inkido, Prima flowers, roses, McGill fern punch and some ribbons. A little glitter stickles in gold on the flowers as well. All showered in glimmers mist, a goldie one. Time is only 1500 here but it's already dark. Only managed to get one picture that looks OK.

Have a good day everyone

Hugs

Another Just Magnolia Challenge (Week 31)

Hi everyone!
Took some time of all of my laundry that has to get ironed and made a card instead. So much more fun! :) Today I made a card using this sweet little snowman, and I got some help again. Tage, my blue and white cat decided that it was time for cuddling at the same time and took a jump right up on my just coloured and glittered snowman. Poor Snowy got christmas red glitter all over his face. I managed to get most of it away from the card, but it got a little scratched in the face instead. Snow effect? With some good imagination. :)

I followed the sketch made by the lovely Mina. It looks like this. Look at the lovely DT cards at Just Magnolia. Tons of inspiration for you all.

I used papers from DCWV, a MS snow flake punch, some snowflake brads from papermania, CS from Basill and some scraps to go with that and I coloured with promarkers. It was really hard to find a good colour for the bells... Have to work that one out. Also there is (still) some X-mas red glitter glue from TH, even after Tages walk about. There is after all more Christmas holidays coming up after this one. My god I've done so many X-mas cards that I've got to get some new friends to send them to. :) Well this is how my card turned out in the end.

Here comes a close up of Snowy and the way he looks. Sooo cute!

Well off to the ironing again. Lots of it to be done and I better get busy. Maybe I can find some more card making time after that, who knows?

Take care and hugs,
Marie

My new best friend, Snowy

Hello each and everyone!
Time for one card and two challenges again. I have fallen in love with my new Magnolia stamp Snowy with star. He is the cutes!

I am entering this card to the challenge at Passion for Promarkers and Cupcake Craft Challenges. It's a sketch and any colours at PFP and "Snow much fun" at CCC. It fits for both of them.

The sketch by the very talented Ida looks like this and was great fun to work with.

My card then. All the DP are from the new Magnolia collection with Winter papers. The colours are just wonderful. I have used my new Martha Stewart snowflake punch that I got in the mail yesterday, thanks for that BunnyZoe. Love it.. The sentiment once again in Swedish, (Merry X-mas = God Jul)

I actually decided to do something new for me again. Yes, I try lots of things that I have not done before these days. I used my circle spellbinders and cut throw the whole card and added a piece of acetate in the empty space. Covered the inside of the card with some more lovely DP from Magonlia. Mounted my lovely Snowy at the outside of the card, over the acetate and got this result. I also made the star and Snowy's head a littel 3D as I used three layers of this part of the image. Some bling added with stickles from TH. Gold and Chrystal this time. I really love the result. :)

Here is the card...(as you didn't see that) :)

Think the painting shows better here...

And some 3D look...

This was all from me for today. I hope you have a good day and thanks for stopping by.

Hugs,
Marie

Just Magnolia Distressing challenge

Hi and hello!
Time for another challenge at Just Magnolia. This challenge is all about distressing and that I´'ve done to my poor card. Not only that, I went a little too crazy with the glimmer mist, but hey it's my first time and I learn. The little santa guy is coloured with distress ink refills, still learning that skill as well. Actually quite fun now when I start to get some feeling for how the inks works. A bit different from my derwent aqua pens. :)

So the card is made with CS from coordination and the rest of the papers are from Magnolia's winter collection. Yummy papers. Love these greyish bluish ones. I have also used some roses, rosebuds, some other flowers from where I don't know. A grass punch from woodware as some leafs. The Santa is also poped up on some 3D cushins. Some silver ink and the (little too much) glimmer mist is also on.

So here comes the card.

And the paint job.

Now it's time to get do to the basement and do some ironing and hopefully get rid of some anger. My oldest boy (three years old) decided to peel the wall papers of the wall in the entrénce this morning. I am not that happy about his initiative at this moment. It's not a very nice wall paper but it's the only one we have. Had no plans for remaking in the hall way at this time. Kids!

Well, hugs and take care

Marie

Just a couple of X-mas cards for the cat shelter

Managed to get a coulpe of Christmas cards done for the cat shelter "Kompis" that will take part in a cat show here during Saturday. They will be selling cat items and many of the cards I make goes to them. There is a challenge every time, I always need to put a cat in to the card, or every now and then a dog to please everyone. This is last nights efforts. The stamp is from The Wildrosestudio, the most amazing stamps to work with. I wish I had more than just this one. But I love it lots! :)

The kittens are coloured with my distress refills, I'm working hard to learn how the work. :) Some papermania snowflake brads and a woodware snowflake punch is also used. Simple and nice. The wonderful DP are a freebee from the lovely Martine at the craft table. I really wish that I had used them for all my Christmas cards this year but I have already finished my own. Don't want to start over again.

My second one...

Cupcake craft Challenges No 64

Here comes my first entry to the challenge blog Cupcake Craft Challenges. Thought it would be fun to enter some more challenges now when I had the time and at the same time get a few extra cards made for upcoming birthdays.

So this project was to follow a sketch looking like this:

It's my second try this week to work with the distress ink refills and this time probably a little better than my blue Santa at the Just Magnolia challenge blog. Practise make perfect, can that be true? :)

Here comes my card! Stamps are from Magnolia, the chipboard heart was black from the beginning so I covered it up in some Magnolia paper called Candy I think, the same one used in the back ground. The CS is from Papermania and the rest of the papers are also Magnolias own. A flower from Stämpelgården and a fern punch is used. The little silver heart comes from BunnyZoes.

Well, this was all from me for today. It's now time for some relaxing before I have to cook some lunch, so boring.

Take care and hugs
Marie

Passion for Promarkers week 24 Canary and Grass

It's time for another challenge card, this time Passion for Promarkers. A favourite challenge for me. I learn something each time. Can never be wrong to get better, can it? This time the bright colours of canary and grass. Those colours made me think of the Brazilian soccer team and I dug into my stamp box and found myself a little player from Panduro. I've tried to get the card to make you think of a soccer field without actually making one, but I not sure I manage that task. So here comes the card.

Of some reason I bought yellow stickles from T.H a while back and then I didn't know what to use it for, but now I Know! :) It was for my star at this Brasilian card. :) I've also used a couple of half pearls to bring out the black in the soccer ball and the sentiment, some kind of balance.

Here comes my paint work.

It's crappy weather out today. Rain, rain, rain and then some rain. It was not easy to take the photos so you kind of have to use your imagination for getting the light right.

Take care and hugs,
Marie

Just Magnolia challange week no 29

Hi again!
A short entry this time. It's a monochrome theme this week at Just Magnolia. Not a very easy one. I started of making a green santa card. But that guy made me sick, so for the first time ever a card went into the fire. Maybe I should have used it as Halloween card and scared the kids ringing on our door during the weekend? ;)

So I remade the card and ended up with a blue santa instead. Much better as he doesn't look too sick. I have for the first time painted with the distress inks (refills) from TH. A bit of adventure for me, but it looks OK for a first timer I think. All of the Santa is actually painted in blue, even his face but it doesn't show to well on the card. I was going for all blue but it became so "heavy looking" that I had to break it of with a tiny, tiny bit of white. A few pearls and some white dots on the Magnolia paper I used in the back ground. There is also a few chrystal stars in the corners of the santa panel. Thanks for looking! It was fun to make the card even if I didn't get my first vision to look like I wanted it too.

My card...

My paint work...

All the best to each and everyone,
Hugs
Marie

Wednesday 28 October 2009

Finally!

I have managed to finish of a card again. I made a card for my auntie last week and totally lost all card making energy but now I got some "mojo" back. I'm really tired, one of my boys are sick with high fever and won't eat of corse. The other one is as wild as ever. Today I manage to take some time and sat down in my basement room and created this card.

I managed to get it together so that I can enter to challenges this week. Just Magnolia and Passion for Promarkers  Feels good with the little time I've got now to make one card for two how to speak.

Well this is my card. A magnolia stamp of corse coloured with my promarkers. So much fun to colour with them, but I a not a fast "painter" that's for sure. Can't even remember how many times I've been giving the cat a new coat of colour, but here he is. Kind of reminds me of one of my british shorthaired cats that was a big part of my life for over 13 years. He is really missed, and so are the other three sweethearts we lost in the short period of one and a half year. Well, that's life. Back to my card.

During this week at Just Magnolia there is a sketch for you to follow and it looks like this. It was great fun to work with as Martines sketches always are. Thank you for all of them!

At Passion for Promarkers there's any colour theme, but there has to be an animal somewhere. And that I forfill with this little darling. You can read everything about the challenges following the links above.

Today my card goes red and blue with some cream colours to light it all up. Some waterfall glitter stickles on the flowers as well.
Here comes the card in full view. Tilda and her "little" cat. He or she is so sweet. It must be a british shorthaired one. It's too cute to be some other breed. :)

The last picture is of my painting. The cat is actually 3d but it doesn't show that much here, if at all. It's really dark here in Sweden nowdays and it's always too dark for photographing as it seems. You all have to bare with that. :)

Well, it's time for me to relax infront of the TV, may be I can bring some of my huge pile of christmas card pieces with me and do some work on them. I've already spent half of my day putting the dubble sided tape on most of the pieces I need. I have two knees, (yes me too) that are really painfull at the moment. If I could I would cut them both of. Sounds terrible I know, but it hurts, a lot! In my fingers and hands as well but hey that's my life. At least for now.

Take care every one!

Hugs
Marie

Passion for Promarkers week no. 21

Time for my second entering at Passion for Promarkers. It was so much fun last week that I had to enter it again. I still can't believe that I made it top-five. Thanks again. :)

Right onto this week’s challenge, which has been chosen by Gina…. once again this week you can use any colours you like but we have a sketch for you to follow.

This time however it was a little harder for me. I chose to paint the jacket in pink which for me is a really hard colour to combine with the right papers. There are some many shades of this colour and thery are not my friends as it feels. :)

In the end I managed to get a card together and this is want I came up with. A card in pink, grey and greyish blue. Some glitterglue here and there, brown ink one every edge except the snowflakes.

Some embellishment that I made to work together with my snowflakes. It felt a little empty at first but this made it into something a little "more." The sentiment is the swedish words for "Merry X-mas". I made that one on the computer. Of some reason all my Christmas text stamps are really big, or maybe my cards are too small? Depends on how you look at it I guess. :) The little snowflake on the chain is from BunnyZoes. Lots of wonderful charms over there.

Here is a close up of my paint work. The stamp is once again from Sugarnellie and is called Winter Wonderland. They are so cute, all four of these new country cousins christmas stamps. I normally (mostly) use the Magnolia stamps but these ones are my favourite ones at the moment.

It has been a real autumn day here today, rain, run, wind all in a lovely mix. The colours on the leafes are wonderful. I wish that I could have taken a walk with my boys but my pain in the knee joínt made that one impossible, hopefully another day. May be a day when it's no rain at all? Me and my three year old son have made meat balls today. He loves to mix it all together and make sure there is enough ketchup in them, smash the egg and so on. It's a fun time together. I think I have to make a scrapbook page about our meat ball days when I get some time left over, and may be put in the reciep for him as well. May be he makes them when he grows up as well?

It's time for me to sign of for today. I have a bunch of letters to write and tomorrow I will go on a little trip with my mum and auntie. Will be sooo, sooo good to get away from home, even if it's only over the day.

Take care and have a great evening,
hugs
Marie
