Make it manly!

Hello and welcome to my little corner of the world again! I hope you're doing fine and that life treats you kind. Here it's the same old same old. A bit of pain, some colds and so on, but it has been worse so happy smiles. Well, went to the doctor with Philip yesterday only to find out what we already had kind of figured out. I am not the only one with light astma in the family. So some treatment for that and we'll see what happens. Hopefully it's something that he will out grow (read when he finish day care as Willy had the same it's gone when he isn't spending any time in that house anymore)...

It's midweek again and it's time for my B-team over at the Paper Shelter to host this weeks challenge. This week we are doing the theme "Make it Manly (a card for a boy or man)" theme justice. Really fun! Well that is what I think but I know that many is having trouble with this theme, but give it a try. It doesn't have to be that hard you know.

Once again I have used an image from the set called Happy Times and this time the kiddo is jumping on his trampoline. Having a great time! My boys love to jump on their trampoline and of course there needs to be at least one ball on there as well, otherwise no fun. As always the image is coloured with my Letraset markers, just because it's the fastest way to colour for me, not saying that it's very fast. LoL

This cards dp's are from a First Edition pad which I don't remember the name of at the moment, but it's all in blue, green and some beige colours. Really lovely actually even if it's a bit too much of glitter on some of the papers in my opinion. Is glitter really for boys? Well, maybe a little. A also used a green paper from the pad to back my panels with. Some papers you just know that you don't want to use on any creation and if they are low on details why not use them as backing card?

For decoration I have used a few little pennants made with a die from Die-Namics and some card candy in different blue shades to go with the dp's. Of course this was a card for one of Philip's friends earlier this year.

Challenge prize badge

As always when we talk about the Paper Shelter we have a gift voucher up for grabs. It's worth $30 if you play with a Paper Shelter product. Playing with another brand in our challenge gives you the chance of winning three digis of your choice.

Ok, enough of me talking here. Just come and join us over at the Paper Shelter for this week's fun challenge.

Love n hugs
Marie

Pins and Pearls

Morning and welcome back to my little corner of the blogging world. I am so tired and frustrated by all the illnesses that passes by this house. P is sick again and as usual it's fever and cough. Oh well, how fun life is. Some day it has to turn for the better. Hopefully we get to see a doctor later on today. Yesterday they were all busy and I made my call by 08:00. Wonder how many of the 8 doctors that was actually there? Hmmmm....

Ok, feels better now so we can go on to this weeks challenge over at Passion for Promarkers. This weeks host is me! I have set the theme to "Pins and Pearls" as I have tons of pins but never ever uses them. It would feel good to lower the stash a bit. Like that would ever happen. LoL Anyway, I think I should use the pins I have and enjoy doing it as they look really pretty and add great detail. Pearls are almost always on my cards so that is not much of a challenge. Remember that you can use any kind of pin, just as it shows that is one. You can even make one on your own.

I have use a lovely sweet image from the Paper Shelter for this card. One of my olderst friends used to play the flute and do it really well. I was thinking of her the other day and as her birthday is coming up soon, I might even get this card in the mail for her. Hope I will. It has been a horrible year when it comes to sending my cards. They are just stacking up. Of couse she is coloured with my Letraset Markers. Remeber that you have to do that as well when entering our challenges.

Sorry about the bad picture. I have really big trouble getting good photos for some reason....

My designer papers are from Bildmålarna Sweden and is called the Soft Collection. Bildmålarna has by the way a new summery collection out. They are sooo lovely both the stamps and the designer papers. Love them to bits. I have kept the design fairly simple as I love the blue paper and didn't want to cover it too much. I even used the dp in it's full size. I used a die cut to frame the image and to tone down the pink a bit I used some chunky embossing powder. A few butterflies made with a MS punsh and some flowers from WOC us also used together wish some lace to finish the whole thing off. Not to forget the pins and pearls that is.

Sponsoring this challenge is A day for Daisies with a gift card worth $12.

Well, it would be nice if you would come and join us in our challenge for this week. And don't forget to take a look at the fabby work that my teamies has made for your inspiration. A new creation is coming up here tomorrow. How busy it will be. Then it's time for a new challenge over at the Paper Shelter.

Passion for Promarkers 5 years old (read young)

Hi there! It's a big day today. The Passion for Promarkers blog is celebrating it's 5 birthday. Congratulations! From my first day of making cards this challenge blog has been my "home", the reson to why I started to use the Letraset products and to continue making card. I always fall back on my Letraset markers even if I have a good set of copics (too soft to colour with for me), I have the aquarel pens, the aquamarkers, distress inks etc. A never ending story of colouring mediums and still it always turns for the best with the LM's. Even if I wish they would have kept their really really wonderful and thick markers paper because nothing measure up to that quality even if it was expensive.

The theme set for this great and easy challenge is "Use your die cuts" and so I have, both on my card and to make my watering can. Now, the watering can is made after a tutorial found here. It is in Swedish but I am sure you can find some translation for it. Thank you to the designers and owner of Kristinas Scrapbooking for putting this great project up on your blog.

As you probably know by now when PFP has a celebration going on, we do it in style and have tons of sponsors to make a great prize draw for all of you. And one of our sponsors is Michele R and her lovely wonderful designer papers which I have used on both my projects. I have printed them on Bazil white cardstock, with my laser printer on both sides to get a dressed up feeling on both in and outside of the watering can. You find Micheles designer papers here. And while I am at it, the image is from the Paper Shelter and is found here.

Here they are both of my projects. Together! :) Me and by brothers with families gave mum some big citrus trees for her 65th birthday last week and to remind her of watering them... tadaa a watering can!

Them image is from the Paper Shelter and of course coloured with my Letraset family. I don't do lilac that often. It's not my favourit colour but for some reason this project was totally right in this colour scheme. And Micheles lovely papers are almost a match to some of mum's curtains that she uses for summer. The die cuts used here is the butterflies from Joy Craft, the Doo Hickey border from Magnolia and the lovely stitched circle from MFT found a Dies to Die for. A real treat besides that it's great service from that store as well. :)

This is a little side shot. The colours are not that much vintage photo as it looks. It was really bad light when I took this picture. I have used pearl string from Rox stamps and I thing the lace is from there as well and I did colour it with distress inks. Die cuts I have used to make this charming little can is circles in various sizes. To make the wholes for the water coming out I used so pearls and I raized the top part of the pouring spout. You see it better on the photo below.

Here you also see that I have printed on both side of the cardstock and I actually reinforzed the can with an extra layer of cardstock to make the whole thing a bit more stable. The flowers are from WOC.

A final shot of the can with it's matching tag. I have just cropped one of the roses from the main image from the Paper Shelter and used a single flower from the image as I didn't want it to get too big. Still feel that the tag is a bit big, but it is a die cut and that's what our theme is. :)

Ok, if this all was not enough this is our sponsors of the week. Lots of goodies to be won, provided that you use Letraset markers of any kind on your creation. And for this challenge only, you have the limit of three (3) entries per crafter. Anyway, I and the rest of both the teams that is taking part can't wait to see what you will come up with for this challenge.

This is the fabby sponsors of this great celebration challenge!

A late girly girl...

Hi and happy to see you here. Having huge trouble with my hands not wanting to work with me, I am a bit late with my new card. My fingers are looking a bit like little sausages this week, and they hurt, badly. Can only get better, can't it?

Better try to keep this short. Takes forever writing with one hand. The new theme over at the Paper Shelter is Girly Girl card. That means we want to see a card that is what you woud think of thinking girly. Like pink, pearls, ribbons, lace. An image with a gal or something that you "connect" with girls like make up, clothes, etc.

Well then, I have taken a half finished card that I started weeks ago and used it to make my girly card. It was really not this that was planned from the beginning. It was good that I had something that was pre cut. Help me finishing this card. The DP's are from Maja Design, vintage spring.

The image is called Just me. She is so sweet and I really enjoyed colouring her even if it took me forever this time. She's a real doll. She is coloured with my Letraset markers.

I gave up on the photo. I am really having a hard time getting a good photo of this card. This have to do... grr

I have used a few dies from Magnolia and Joy crafts. A MS punch that I finally bought after thinking long and hard about it. I don't regret it. It's very useful and looks lovely. Flowers from WOC as well as the chees cloth. Pearl string, lace,  ribbon and the zip handle from ROX stamps. Pearls from Bunny Zoe and the doily from Panduro. The rose lace is from WOC or The Ribbon girls, can't really remember. Walnut stain used for distressing the edges.

Challenge prize badge

As always we have a gift voucher worth $30 up for grabs if you play with any TPS product. Playing with another brand gives you the chance of winning three (3) digis of your choice. Isn't that just great?

Ok this is it from me for today. I hope you'll come and join us over at the Shelter this week. It's always so great to see what you come up with for our challenges.

Yummy food!

Morning! Welcome back to my quiet little corner of the world. I nearly didn't have any post for you today as almost didn't get my card over to the challenge blog. I fell a sleep and for a really long time. LoL It was a good nap but now I am totally lost as I didn't get much sleep last night. The fresh air took the best of me I think, I am not used to being out side as much as I have the last days. Lots of soccer going on for the kids at the moment. Practise and games. We loose but have fun anyway. Well, don't tell Willy that as he is a really sore loser. Well, on Saturday we're at it again. LoL

I am still not well, surprise, surprise! However, it seems like they might be on to something as I got treatment for astma last week and it looks like it might be helping. Still totally clogged in my nose and my eye are running. A bit hard to breath still, but a step forward as it feels. Can't believe that they (= the doctors) manage to find yet another new fresh diagnosis to give me. I think it's number 8 or something in that neighbourhood. At least it might explain all the colds and stuff I have been getting this year. Also cycling on my bike around 20 kms each day has broken down my very unused body and have added to the illnesses. Lets hope it turns around now. I am so tired of all this by now.

Ok, on to something more fun. We have a new challenge up for you today over at Passion for Promarkers. The theme set is "Yummy food". Fun and lots of great images to choose from when it comes to this subject. I didn't realize how many images had food in them before this challenge. There is tons of them!

So some images you just love to bits but don't know what to do with. This is one of those images. I don't remember when Veronica over at the Paper Shelter made this, the only thing I know is that I had yet to use it. It's called Yummy Lethal weapon. A perfect image for me who loves making meatballs. LoL I don't cook much at all, but I love making meat balls. Special flavour? Taco spices! All kids favourites and my brothers love them too. Always have to make them for our birthday parties here. So It might be me who uses the slingshot.

She is of course coloured with my Letraset markers and paired up with some great old designer papers from Magnolia Sweden. I have such big pile of Magnolia papers and I hardly ever use them. Isn't that sad? So I will try to use up some of all the old papers I have got, but to be honest, some I have no clue of why I bought...:)

I didn't use many decorations either, only some pearls and some never used dies from Doo Hickeys (Magnolia again). I even manage to find my silver paper that I have been so careful to save up as we don't have any scrapbooking store here in Kalmar anymore.

Ok finally we have a sponsor for this challenge as well. The kind people of is giving away one stamp to our lucky winner! How great isn't that? And don't forget to take a look at what all my lovely teamies has been up to. There is really some yummy cards for your inspiration over at the challenge blog!

Love n hugs
Marie
